![]() Upcoming Neighborhood Roundtable Forum: Best Opportunity for Residents to Communicate with Local Law Enforcement Agencies. It is not everyday that residents of Springfield and Greene County have the opportunity to communicate with representatives of the Greene County Prosecutor's Office, the Greene County Sheriff's Department, the Springfield Police Department, the Missouri Highway Patrol, and Springfield Municipal Courts all at the same place and at the same time. For those folks who would like the opportunity to do just that they are in luck because just such an event has been scheduled by the Neighborhood Roundtable. Law Enforcement: Past, Present, and Future What has changed in local law enforcement in the last few years? Where are we compared to the past and where are we going in the future? Date: November 12, 2007 @ 7pm Location: The Fusion Center - 1321 N. Campbell Across the street from the main church campus on Campbell Ave. (Grey stone building with orange front on Campbell and Calhoun) Each Panelist will have 2-3 minutes to introduce themselves and briefly describe the role each speaker's organization or agency has in Springfield/Greene County. Following introductions, the floor will open to a moderated question and answer period. According to Neighborhood Roundtable Chairman Rob Brantley this tried and trusted moderated forum is a great opportunity for residents to ask those questions that may traditionally go unanswered yet at the same time provide a buffer to the panelists that protect them from potentially negative dialogue and assaultive discourse. Community members who have attended past events have discovered that even cantankerous questions and issues can be explored through positive dialogue and discourse in a controlled environment. To Members & Friends of the Peace Network of the Ozarks,
Another year is passing so quickly it seems. There have been so many things occurring in the war vs. peace actions this year, and it continues on both sides of ongoing efforts. It is time to tell you about the PNO business meeting scheduled for November 7, but first, watch for the forthcoming notices as follows. (2024 words in story) Full Story By Press, Section Events
First, it's fun. How many opportunities do we have to dress in costume, eat, drink
and dance with friends in an appropriately ghost-haunted castle?
Second, for issues from protecting the Supreme Court and the environment to stopping the war in Iraq and restoring medical care to children and the working poor, it's vital that Democrats sweep the 2008 elections. In Missouri, Greene County and the rest of southwest Missouri are the keys to that success. In 2006 we elected Claire McCaskill by improving her Greene County Democratic turnout from 37% to almost 43%. According to Claire, she couldn't have achieved that victory without the organizational support of Greene County Democrats. Maintaining that organizational structure requires money, and I can't think of a more enjoyable way to help local Democrats raise those funds. So invite your friends and join us on October 27 at the Pythian Castle for the third annual Masquerade Ball. You will have a ball, and you will help us elect Democrats in 2008. Howard Dean and the DNC are promoting November 3rd as a "One Year Out" Democratic outreach day with house parties and canvasses.
The Jay Nixon Campaign is teaming up with these events to help him and local
Democrats get elected one year from now. They may be able to supply walk lists for One Year Out canvass efforts in your neck of the
Missouri woods. Here for example, is the event I have set up in
