Derek White has been very busy since the highly contested Zone-1 City Council race. He was named to the Citizens Advisory Board for Community Development by City Council becoming the youngest known board member in the City of Springfield. Also, the 137th Legislative District Committee named him Citizen of the year for 2005 for his outstanding local leadership and community service in Northwest Springfield.
