The Joplin Globe recently printed a sleazy bit of slander about Senator Kerry. Please sign our petition and ask them to apologize/run a correction.
"A generation ago, Sen. Kerry slandered his comrades in Vietnam by saying that they were rapists and murderers. It wasn't true then and his warped view of today's heroes isn't true now." (http://www.joplinglobe.com/editorial/local_story_307231106.html) The Joplin Globe should apologize for their slander of a war hero and United States Senator. Not once did your Nov. 4th editorial mention the contention by Kerry that his comments were not meant to criticize the troops but the President.
1). The prepared text for his speech clearly shows that he was suppose to criticize the President and not the troops.
2). Quoting Paul Morin saying that "Kerry slandered his comrades in Vietnam by saying that they were rapists and murderers" is false. 3). The pathetic co-opting of GOP talking points is one thing the use of lies indicates either intellectual laziness or the type of political loyalty that places winning over the truth. We request that at the very least a correction be published if not an apology.
