The Veterans Alliance for Security and Democracy Political Action Committee (www.vetpac.org) will have two Board members and numerous supports in Fulton, MO today to help Duane Burghard and his campaign in the 9th Congressional District.
Paul Bucha, Chairman of the VETPAC Advisory Board and a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, cited the lack of Congressional oversight of the war as another reason to support Duane Burghard "We need more veterans in Congress to question the deceptions and fanciful assumptions of this administration and to prevent another strategic blunder as has occurred in Iraq. Missouri is known for supporting independent representatives, not rubber stamps and Duane will follow this tradition."
Gen. Joseph Hoar, USMC (ret), a member of the VETPAC Advisory Board and former CENTOM Commander summed up simply, "Duane Burghard is a Truman Democrat; he will get to the truth and act on it." About VETPAC The Veterans' Alliance for Security and Democracy ("VETPAC") is a political action committee established under the federal election laws to raise funds and, with those funds, make contributions to candidates for federal office and engage in other election-related activities, including endorsing and promoting the election of specific candidates for public office and addressing issues of national importance. VETPAC seeks to address issues of particular urgency for protecting the security and enhancing the democratic processes of the United States. As an alliance of veterans working with veterans, and of veterans working in alliance with the American people, VETPAC will endorse and support candidates for national office that support VETPAC's principles of security and democracy.
