Thank you, Ray McGovern.

Ray McGovern's three-day visit informed and inspired hundreds of people in person and thousands of people via KOLR 10's Town Hall Broadcast. 

He thoroughly explained situations and acts surrounding the build up to the pre-emptive attack on a country that hadRay McGovern addresses local media, students, and others at his initial press conference after arriving in Springfield for a three day whirlwind speaking tour. nothing to do with 9/ll, and he somberly related subsequent consequences and possible future repercussions from our country's rush to war. We hope you were able to participate in this grand conversation. Ray showed us the need for our putting our neck on the line as we employ our imaginations and minds in ways that can avert the catastrophe we seem dead-set on

...Sue Skidmore, whose dedication to the justice that brings peace is widely recognized. Sue contacted Ray and arranged not only his visit to Springfield, but also a state-wide tour that also takes him to Fayetteville, Arkansas, bringing his message of the power of peace to the heartland of these United States.

We were able to collect $1,000, money that Ray contributes to the school where he teaches. We realize his contribution was priceless and wish we could provide a commensurate remuneration.

...the co-sponsors and hosts who welcomed Ray--Dr. Roger Ray, National Avenue Christian Church; Jeff VanDenBerg, Drury University; Dr. Tim Knapp, Stephen Eisle, andPanelists discussing the War on Terrorism and the Iraq Occupation are greeted by a packed house. The large conference room was filled to capacity and overflowed into the hallway at the Springfield (Greene County) Library Center. MSU's student Amnesty International Chapter; Loraine Sandstron, staff, The Library Center; and Kay Murnan, Ozarks Technical College.

...KOLR 10 TV, for its community service broadcast of a panel of experts Ray McGovern speaks out and educates students on the reality of the War on Terrorism and the Occupation of Iraq following the KOLR10 town Hall Forum hosted by Missouri State University in Springfield. discussing the vital concern: "The War in Iraq: Are We Winning?" 

...all the people who packed chairs, served refreshments, sold books, created and posted flyers, took pictures, and provided all the support necessary for a successful event.

...and all people who attended the events, demonstrating their determination to seek the facts necessary to make enlightened decisions about our country's future.

Your combined efforts and those of many more folks both behind the scenes and in the audiences made these events one of the most memorable in the history of Springfield's peace movement.
