Dear Peace Folks,
Below is a letter that was mailed out to several area churches. We did not have enough money to send this to everyone, so are asking all of our supporters to print this copy and take it to your church or any social group you feel might be interested in having a speaker.
Thanks for your help in making the PNO Speakers Bureau a success.
In Peace,
Doris Ewing
PEACE NETWORK OF THE OZARKS
---------------------
September 20, 2006
Dear Church Leaders,
In this time of fear and uncertainty, it is important that everyone become informed about issues and hear the many perspectives and suggestions offered. For this reason, the Peace Network of the Ozarks has organized a list of speakers willing to talk to community civic and church groups on a variety of topics.
The Peace Network is a non-partisan group dedicated to the promotion of world peace and justice for all. We agree with Martin Luther King Jr.
when he said, Wars are poor chisels for carving out peaceful tomorrows.
The following is our mission statement:
- The Peace Network of the Ozarks is committed to the promotion of world peace with justice through active participation in the democratic process in nonviolent and peaceful ways. True peace will be obtained when all people have economic justice, personal security and freedom from oppression.
There are no easy solutions to world problems, but sometimes considering the questions is equally important. As the most powerful and wealthy country in the world, the decisions we make have global consequences.
It is our hope that these talks will encourage people to think deeply about issues so we can examine together our personal beliefs and values.
Below is a list of speakers and topics available for presentation at your group or church. Please contact me if you would be interested in having a program
